The Dishman Art Museum will present Crystal Realities to Artificial Intelligence: Multidisciplinary Explorations in Photography in an exhibition opening September 24 and running through November 12. The community will have a chance to meet the artists: Linda Alterwitz, Dornith Doherty, Rashed Haq and Liz Hickok on September 30 during an Artist Panel, at 5:30 p.m. followed by an opening reception beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Crystal Realities to Artificial Intelligence interweaves four photographic artists who’ve traversed delineations of wide-spanning scientific disciplines each with its respective vocabulary, explorations, themes and objectives. These contemporary and currently working artists explore human developments and biological responses in urban and natural environments, botanical conservation and what Haq calls “cyborg anthropology.” They collectively ask, “Can our present and future constructed realities be both pessimistic and optimistic simultaneously?”

Admission to the Dishman Art Museum is free of charge and open to the public. Museum hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The museum is closed for major holidays.
