Museum of the Gulf Coast
The Museum of the Gulf Coast is kicking off 2018 with our third annual Children’s Art Competition, which allows young artists to exhibit at the Museum alongside professionals.
This year, we have opened the competition to adults as well, both professional and amateur. Children’s entries are free, and adult entries are $10 each, a portion of which will go to a cash prize for “Best in Show”. Other prizes and ribbons will also be awarded, including a “Community Choice” prize that our visitors will be able to vote on.
In an effort to create and spread positivity, artists are encouraged to enter pieces with the theme “Texas Strong”, to uplift and inspire their friends and neighbors.
Both 2D and 3D work will be accepted. Art competition forms can be downloaded from the Museum’s website at www.museumofthegulfcoast.org or picked up at the Museum front desk.
The Museum would like to receive all submissions by February 3, 2018 so that the artwork can be displayed during Mardi Gras when thousands of visitors will be able to see it.
The competition will be judged March 10, 2018 (FREE Family Fun Day) by our professional guest artists, Ted Ellis and Carolyn Crump. Art will remain on exhibition until April 30, 2018.
