The Art Studio, Inc.’s 2017-18 exhibition season begins with the annual Tenants Show, Sept. 2-23, beginning with a free reception, 7-10 p.m., Sept. 2 at TASI’s gallery, 720 Franklin in downtown Beaumont.
The show is the traditional first show of the season and features artists who use TASI as their studio. The artists participating in the show will be available for visitors to visit them in their spaces for the first hour or so.
“It’s a way for artists and art lovers to come together and see what TASI’s artists are working on,” director Greg Busceme said. “We’re like a family and we are always looking to spread the word on the great work our tenants produce.”
The Tenants Show is a chance to raise awareness of the facility which offers artists opportunities to work on painting, ceramics, metalwork and more. Exhibits are on display each month from September to June except for January, and the Studio also offers a range of classes and is home to monthly band nights and various other events.
Tenant Barbara Allamon works with clay.
I took a class form Greg (Busceme) a few years ago and I just fell in love with ceramic,” she said. “I just start working with it and the piece evolves — it’s beautiful.”
